Dynamics of operation of a CO2 laser with small-amplitude modulation of pumping

Abstract:
Chaotic lasing regimes were observed for a CO2 laser with small-amplitude modulation of pumping when the modulation frequency was twice the frequency of relaxation oscillations. The period-doubling limits determined experimentally were in agreement with calculations. The asymmetry of the doubling windows relative to the central transition frequency was accounted for.
