Abstract:
The influence of small gamma-ray or electron doses on the output energy of Al2O3 : Cr3+ and YAG : Nd3+ lasers was investigated under 'passive' and 'active' conditions, i.e. in the absence or presence of lasing. The effects not observed at large doses were detected. The reasons for the experimentally observed phenomena were analysed.
