Optical sum-frequency generator based on coupled waveguides

Abstract:
Properties of an integrated-optical parametric sum-frequency generator based on two coupled waveguides are considered. The sum frequency is generated by the method of quasi-phase-matching which makes it possible to generate the sum-frequency wave by injection of radiation from two semiconductor lasers into each of the waveguides.
