Abstract: It is shown that the Rytov rotation of the field vectors results in an additional bending of the ray path and this bending depends on the sign of the circular polarisation of light. The effect is the inverse of the optical Magnus ('ping pong') effect: the path curvature results in additional rotation which depends on the sign of the circular polarisation.
