Highly efficient pulsed Nd:YAG lasers with radiation frequency conversion

Abstract:
The output energy characteristics of Nd:YAG lasers with intracavity nonlinear-optical KTP frequency converters are studied. Conversion efficiencies of 1.0 and 0.55% were obtained for flashlamp-pumped lasers in the regimes of intracavity SHG and intracavity parametric oscillation, respectively.
