Control of laser radiation parameters

Depolarisation of the output radiation of an HCN laser

Abstract: The radiation generated in a submillimetre HCN laser with an amplitude-anisotropic resonator cavity was elliptically polarised. The ratio of the orthogonal components was 20–22 dB. The ellipticity was observed for homogeneous and inhomogeneous discharge gaps.
