Dye laser pumped by a waveguide N2 laser

Abstract: A waveguide N2, laser was used to pump rhodamine 6G, the most widely used laser dye. The energy characteristics and the spatial structure of the radiation were investigated. In a nonselective cavity the dye laser emitted pulses of 200 W power and of 2 ns duration. The efficiency of conversion of the pump radiation was 3.5%.
