Abstract:
The conversion efficiency and service life of the laser elements based on a polymer-filled microporous glass (PFMPG) composite doped with organic dyes are studied. It is shown that both the conversion efficiency and the service life of the laser elements achieve the values obtained for the same dyes in bulk polymer elements. Good lasing characteristics of the elements studied are advantageously combined with the high mechanical strength and high laser damage resistance and excellent thermooptical properties of the PFMPG composite.
