Abstract:
Amplification and thermally induced phase distortions in a cw pumped laser head with an active element in the form of a thin Yb : YAG slab are experimentally studied. Lasing characteristics of an emitter based on this laser head are examined. Laser radiation is obtained with an average power of 32 W and a slope efficiency with respect to the absorbed pump power η = 68%.
Keywords:
slab active element, Yb : YAG, thermal effects, thermal lens, high average power.
