Abstract:
It is demonstrated that the optical pumping of a Cs vapour with light pulses of a dye laser tunable within the range of 15390—17920 cm-1 gives rise to high-power stimulated IR emission on several atomic transitions. Analysis of threshold, energy, and spectral characteristics of this emission allowed the mechanism underlying this effect to be explained.
