Abstract:
We consider the evolution of the spectrum of a mediumpower input telecom laser pulse during propagation in a longitudinally inhomogeneous flattened dispersion silica fibre. Using modelling results, we find an optimal longitudinal fibre diameter profile ensuring transfer of more than 60% of the input pulse energy to a subpicosecond pulse in the range 2.2–2.3 μm.
Keywords:
light generation in the 2 μm range, longitudinally inhomogeneous optical fibre, supercontinuum generation.
