Abstract: The influence of the ellipticity of the pump wave polarisation on the efficiency of bremsstrahlung harmonic generation and on the properties of the polarisation of harmonics in a previously formed plasma is considered. A detailed numerical investigation of the asymptotic relationships obtained previously reveals that the limiting cases discussed before do not include a very broad domain of parameters characterising the plasma and the pump radiation. In this domain, it has been possible to determine numerically and predict new properties of the harmonics generated in free-free electron transitions.
