Abstract: An experimental investigation was made of the polarisation and frequency characteristics of a monolithic ring YAG : Nd3+ chip laser. Varying of the orientation of an external magnetic field relative to the active element made it possible to alter discretely the emission frequency of the chip laser and the polarisation of its output radiation.
