Detection of 890 GHz radiation with a metal-oxide-metal diode

Abstract:
An investigation was made of the behavior of a W – Co point-contact diode in video and heterodyne detection of 890 GHz radiation. It was found that additional oxidation of the substrate could increase the responsivity of the diode by a factor in excess of 2.
