Mathematical modelling of dispersion-managed thulium/holmium fibre lasers

Abstract:
The mathematical model of a dispersion-managed thulium/holmium fibre laser is described; the results of numerical calculations and their comparison with the experimental data are presented. Qualitative agreement of the results of the mathematical modelling with those of the experiment is obtained. Using the methods of mathematical modelling, the variation in the characteristics of the optical pulses due to the change in the average cavity dispersion is analysed.
