Abstract:
A model of a nuclear-pumped liquid laser was constructed. Within its framework, it is possible to analyse the laser operation as a function of various parameters of the apparatus, of the composition of the active medium, and of the pump pulse parameters. The operational characteristics of a liquid laser with a neodymium- and uranium-doped laser-active medium based on phosphoryl chloride were calculated. It follows from the calculations that the laser effect may be observed in this medium on pumping with neutrons from the BARS-6 reactor.
