Abstract:
A phenomenological model is proposed for the description of the 'polarisation collapse' of the radiation emitted by a neodymium glass laser with a passive switch utilising a LiF:$F_2^-$ crystal. The calculations are shown to be in satisfactory agreement with experiments.
