Abstract:
High-quality cutting of steel sheets of thickness up to 50 mm is performed upon a simultaneous action of laser radiation and a supersonic oxygen jet on the material. Parameters of the nozzle used for jet formation are determined by simulating numerically three-dimensional flows of a viscous and heat-conducting gas in a plane channel that is geometrically similar to the laser cut.
