Optimisation of a high-bit-rate optical communication link with a nonideal quasi-rectangular filter

Abstract: The problem of data communication over a wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) high-data-rate communication link where wave division multiplexing is performed by using quasi-rectangular Bragg filters is studied numerically. It is shown that the optimisation of the mean dispersion of the link, the width and shape of the transfer function of filters provides the increase in the data communication range up to 1550 km.
