Novel method for the control of the envelope of pulse trains from solid-state lasers with passive mode locking

Abstract: A novel method is proposed for the control of the envelope of a train of pulses generated in a solid-state lasers with passive mode locking. This method is based on the use of a multicomponent active medium.
