Optical properties of microstructure tellurite glass fibres

Abstract:
The dispersion characteristics and waveguide optical losses are calculated by the multipole method for microstructure optical fibres with a continuous core, which can be made of a tellurite glass holding much promise for fibre optics. The effect of geometrical parameters on the optical properties is studied and conditions for the single-mode propagation of radiation in such fibres are determined.
