Abstract:
The aim of the investigation was to build a laser cathode-ray tube operating with a television-type screen operating at room temperature. A study was made of the thermal conditions on the laser screen, the optimal rate of scanning with the electron beam was determined, and the parameters of cadmium sulfide laser screens were optimized. The results made it possible to achieve stimulated emission from cadmium sulfide laser screens by television-type scanning with an electron beam when the screens were cooled with running water. The output power obtained from such screens was 0.5 W and the conversion efficiency was 3% at λ = 525 nm. The image was projected from the laser screen onto an external screen which was a few square meters in area.
