Second Topical Meeting on Optical Fiber Transmission Williamsburg, Va., February 22–24,1977

Recent results presented at this Meeting are used in an analysis of the current problems relating to the improvement of the optical quality, radiation resistance, mechanical strength, and other characteristics of optical fibers. The development of light sources for optical communication lines is also reviewed.
