Abstract:
An investigation was made of the transmission spectrum of a graded-index phosphosilicate glass fiber in the wavelength range 0.9–3 μ. Such fibers were found to be suitable for infrared systems operating at wavelengths up to 2.6 μ. A prototype fiber-optical system operating at a wavelength of 1.54 μ was investigated.
