Kinetics of excitation of the active levels of a copper vapor laser by pulse pairs

Abstract: The kinetics of the active levels of a copper vapor laser excited by pulse pairs was studied experimentally for the first time. It was found that as the delay was reduced, the lasing parameters in the second pulse were mainly limited by the prepulse population of the metastable level.
