Abstract:
Measurements have been made of heat evolution in CNPG (concentrated neodymium phosphate glass), GLS24, and YAG active elements activated with neodymium ions, using a specific pumping system. It was established that the heat evolved without filtering of the ultraviolet component of the pump radiation spectrum was 11–14% of the energy stored in the capacitors, but filtering (cutoff at 460 nm) reduced it to 8.6, 9.5, and 7.6% for CNPG, GLS24, and YAG, respectively.
