Abstract: An experimental study was made of the yield and selectivity of dissociation of COCl2 molecules by NH3 laser radiation pulses of ~ 4 μs duration. The dissociation was found to involve competition between radiative and collisional activation of molecules and the dissociation yield was determined by the latter activation process.
