Collisional laser using the 2+-system of nitrogen

B. M. Berkeliev, V. A. Dolgikh, I. G. Rudoĭ, A. Yu. Samarin, A. M. Soroka
Abstract: An investigation was made of the mechanism of deactivation of the B3Πg level in a high-pressure laser utilizing the C3ΠuB3Πg transition in the nitrogen molecule. Quasi-cw lasing due to the second positive system of nitrogen (λ = 358 nm) with collisional deactivation of the B state was achieved for the first time.
