Abstract:
An experimental investigation was made of the spectrum and of the time structure of radiation formed by stimulated Raman scattering in the negative dispersion range of the group velocities in a fiber waveguide ($\lambda\gtrsim$ 1.37 $\mu$) pumped by pulses of 150–200 psec duration ($\lambda$ = 1.4 $\mu$). Highcontrast pulses of 100–200 fsec duration were generated by this process at wavelengths 1.5–1.7 $\mu$.
