Abstract: An analysis is made of the interaction between two monochromatic plane arbitrarily polarized waves traveling in parallel under stimulated Raman scattering conditions. Expressions are obtained for slowly varying vector amplitudes of the fields. It is shown that the degree of conversion of the laser radiation into the Stokes component depends strongly on the nature of the relative polarization of the fields.
