Investigation of an electric field sensor based on an integrated optical Mach–Zehnder modulator

Abstract:
An investigation was made of the frequency and dynamic characteristics of a prototype of an electric field sensor based on an integrated optical Mach–Zehnder modulator in contact with single-mode fiber waveguides. An analysis and experimental determination were made of the dynamic range as a function of the position of the working point on the modulation characteristic.
