Chemical DF–CO2 amplifier of short light pulses

A. S. Bashkin, P. G. Grigor'ev, V. I. Igoshin, V. Yu. Nikitin, A. N. Oraevskiĭ
Abstract: An analysis is made of the energy characteristics of a chemical DF–CO2 amplifier handling pulses of different durations. Different rates of initiation of the chain reaction between fluorine and deuterium by a beam of fast electrons or by photolysis are considered. Calculations and experimental data on the density of the inversion stored in a DF–CO2 amplifier indicate that such an amplifier is likely to be useful in laser fusion research.
