Abstract: An experimental study was made of the generation of stimulated Raman radiation excited in a long gaseous medium. The use of such medium made it possible to increase considerably the efficiency of excitation of high-order anti-Stokes components, to obtain strong Raman radiation at low gas pressures, and to construct a multifrequency Raman laser with a uniform distribution of the intensity between the spectral components.
