Low-loss fiber guide with SiO2+GeO2 core and borosilicate cladding

Abstract: A glass fiber guide with an SiO2 + GeO2 core and borosilicate cladding was made. Its numerical aperture was 0.33. The mechanisms of optical losses, which did not exceed 10 dB/km, were investigated in the spectral range of greatest interest for optical communication.
