Abstract: Computer simulation was used to study the mechanism of the influence of small amounts of Xe on the discharge and lasing characteristics of pulsed electric-discharge TEA CO2 lasers. The addition of Xe to an active mixture can have positive effects: it can reduce the discharge voltage and improve the lasing characteristics.
