Fresnel diffraction by glass apodizing apertures with a super-Gaussian transmission function

N. I. Potapova, A. D. Tsvetkov
Abstract: An investigation is made of the influence of the parameters of glass apodizing apertures with a super-Gaussian transmission function on the characteristics of the pattern formed by the radiation diffracted to the near-field zone. The dependences of the degree of apodization on the hardness parameter, minimum transmission at the edge of the aperture, and optical inhomogeneity of real apertures are obtained for different Fresnel numbers.
