Abstract: A theoretical investigation is made of the dynamics of emission from a solid-state ring laser under conditions of competition between two instability mechanisms. A determination is made of the ranges of the parameters manifesting self-modulation regimes of different kinds and the limits of stochastic behavior are established. The attention is concentrated on autostochastic regimes which appear under conditions of frequency degeneracy of relaxation fluctuations.
