Wavefront reconstruction from the intensity of an optical field by computational tomography methods

Abstract: An expression is obtained for the Wigner function of a paraxial light beam in terms of its intensity distribution in a bulk (three-dimensional) medium. The derivation is given for monochromatic beams with a one-dimensional transverse structure and it is based on application of the Radon transformation.
