Abstract: An efficient regenerative YAG:Nd3+ amplifier with a stimulated Brillouin scattering (STBS) mirror operating on a weak initial signal was developed. An investigation was made of the compression of the initial pulse under the combined influence of STBS and nonlinear amplification in the active medium.
