Abstract: The problem of the coupling losses experienced by the main waveguide mode is solved for a laser cavity formed by two mirrors with a hollow rectangular or planar waveguide between them. The optimal configurations and mirror positions are found for waveguides with different ratios of the sides. Laser cavities supporting a wide range of wavelengths are considered.
