Abstract:
An integrated optical circuit was developed and investigated for a 40-channel electrooptic phase modulator. Channel waveguides were formed by thermal diffusion of Ti into a Y-cut LiNbO3 substrate. The half-wave voltage for each channel was 1.6 V and the width of the modulation frequency band was 0–290 MHz. The modulator was used as an input device in optical processing of rf signals.
