Laser frequency measurement at National Physical Laboratory
D. J. Knight, K. I. Pharaoh, M. J. Padgett
Abstract:
Development in laser frequency measurement at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) are described: frequency mixing to 9 μm and a color-center laser at 2.3 μm in a chain to the visible; far-infrared measurements and sources; spectroscopy towards a 10 μm-band standard. Requirements for Rydberg experiments and for optical fiber band standards are discussed.
