Chemical lasers and their media

Energy and spectral characteristics of cw HF lasers with resonant optical pumping

A. S. Bashkin, M. S. Kurdoglyan, A. N. Oraevsky
Abstract: Continuous-wave HF lasers with resonant optical pumping were modeled numerically. It was assumed that the spectral composition of the pump radiation was the same as that of real cw HF chemical lasers. It was found that the internal efficiency of these lasers may be higher than 70% and that the pump source and laser spectra may be effectively separated by suitably selecting the temperature of the flowing gas.
