Abstract:
A study was made of the possibility of constructing electrooptic switches from lithium niobate crystals with a regular domain structure. These switches were intended for modulation of the Q factor of lasers utilizing neodymium-activated crystals. It was found that the switches were suitable for the control of polarized or unpolarized laser radiation. A switch was designed for unpolarized radiation in such a way that the voltage required to control the switch was minimal, but the contrast was maximal.
