Pulsed optical bleaching of fiber-optic waveguides with a pure quartz glass core

Abstract:
It is shown experimentally that induced absorption in a fiber-optic waveguide with a pure quartz glass core can be bleached within ~100μsec by optical radiation pulses of ~10–5 J energy.
