Abstract:
An investigation was made of a photoinitiated chemical D2–F2–CO2 laser. When the mixture composition was D2:F2:CO2:He = 1:5.5:4:9.5 ([O2]/[F2]=0.03, p=1 atm) and the degree of initiation was Δ[F2]/[F2] = 0.05%, the specific output energy was 37 J/liter, which corresponded to a technical laser efficiency of 18%.
