Abstract: The CO2 laser emission frequency was measured by coincidence with the eighth harmonic of a D2O laser (first harmonic at 84 μ). The results were used as the basis of a proposed system for measuring the frequency of a highly stable helium-neon quantum oscillator including a methane absorption cell and a D2O laser.
