Spatial filtration of optical signals by nonlinearly absorbing elements

Abstract: The method for increasing the signal/noise ratio with the aid of a nonlinear spatial bleachable filter was analyzed and tested in practice. The signal/noise ratio was increased by two orders of magnitude using a solution of bromated gallium phthalocyanine and ruby laser radiation.
