Abstract: A method was developed for the calculation of the energy parameters of an electron-beam-controlled CO2 laser. An experimental study was made of the output energy, efficiency, pulse shape, and duration of the radiation emitted by a 10-liter CO2 laser as a function of the composition of the mixture, electron-beam pump power (pulse duration 1–50 μsec), and electric field in the active medium. The calculation method gave results which were in quantitative agreement with the experimental data.
