Abstract: The results are given of an investigation of the efficiency of second harmonic generation in lithium iodate and formate crystals (these harmonics are needed in ultraviolet spectroscopy). Ultraviolet radiation of wavelengths shorter than 350 nm was generated for the first time in lithium iodate. The source of exciting radiation was an organic dye laser pumped by a cw argon laser.
